Official Champions League & Europa League thread

I'm beginning to hate Barcelona. All this sickening, sickening love, and the fact they always win. I will support their opponents every time.

Now I know why Bobby Hates Man U. ;)

Damn, Twente is taking a beating. Didn't expect that... Villareal isn't bad or anything, always a team to take seriously, but I was seeing more of a small home win, or even a draw.
 
As in the post was deadly.

Anyway, Villarreal or Porto will win the Europa, both teams are very good. Would like to see Porto keep this squad together for the Champions League next season.

The Europa Liga quarters have been like the Champions League quarters. Three teams are already through, with only one tie left in the balance.

Horrible. We took a right thrashing. Now I never really expected to beat Villarreal over two legs, but a 5-1 away defeat is...well, unsettling. We got blown away, the quality advantage lies with the Spaniards but we were really crap that night. Started well but totally lost it after the opening goal.

Then again, we had a good run. Made it to the quarter finals and beat out clubs with twice, three times our annual budget.
 
I didn't see the match, only some highlights, but a classmate of mine watched it at a bar. He said you guys looked lethargic. Anyways, it's football, anything can happen. You guys might surprise the 2nd time around.
 
Drogba was a real threat, how the hell he doesn't start is beyond me. I get that Roman wants Torres to start, so Carlo is under pressure to play him but Anelka offers fuck all.

As much as I hate Man Utd... Giggs and Cantona are two players I always loved to watch. Except against Pool...and Forest. :(

Cantona is an effing legend. Ive met him a few times and he is probably the nicest 'professional' player Ive ever met. He even invited my uncle for a coffee when we saw him in Mauritius lol

Also the game last night was awesome.. Did you see the Giggs banner at Old Trafford?

I don't like Souness, he seems like a miserable arrogant sod. Him and Jamie Redknapp had a few heated words last night during the analysis part of the show, he kept talking over Redknapp.

Hope Spurs get a miracle tonight and win 4-0, although a Real and Barca semi-final will(would) be exciting.
