Bullshit. There was a time when MTV actually just played music video's. That had nothing to do with catering for teens. Only later when they began making stupid fucking shows.

I've watched Jersey Shore twice since it's been on. Both times for about 10mins. The first time some chick was hiding from her boss in the bathroom and the
2nd time Snookie (guessing she's the most widely known character since she's a dumbass?) was working in an ice cream shop and the couple on the show were fighting bc he wanted to go out and she didn't.

I have never seen Jersey Shore. Even for a second. For me, MTV is in the 50's..or 60's..I dunno. ESPN is 31-33. FX is 30, TBS is 27, HBO is 2, and Comedy Central is 67. I don't even flip through channels, I know what I wanna watch, so I have never even watched the show on accident.

So I guess I can't comment on it, but certainly the tools from high school continue to update their statuses with "GTL" and other shit quotes from the show.

It's nothing about "I'm better than thou" its....this shit is dumb and not worth watching. Almost as annoying as Kim Kardashian using her baby voice talking about getting botox on their stupid show.
