Technology Online gaming via Xbox live

Okay

So at first, I used to play online and get in rooms filled with people from all around the world. Lately, every room i'm in is filled with people within a 100 mile radius of my location.

Is this something new xbox is doing? You are connected to people who are located near you? Has anyone heard anything about this update?

WTF? Is there a way to fix it. I don't want to play with people from Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri... :*(

There's just probably a new server near you. Here it always was the case - I had my location set to England and I only played with English people.

You can still play with people from all around the world who are on your friends list.

Bobby, All of the Call of Duty games, mostly MW2, L4D2, Fable 2, Crackdown, Saints Row 2, Gears of War 2 and recently I started to play GRAW2 again. If you ever get on there and want to play send me an invite This way I avoid talking to your brother again. LOL

^^you play Crackdown? i just finished that last week. i picked it up for 5 euros. surprisingly good game. maybe we will play co-op sometime. i have all the COD games as well except for WOW.

lol ok but he is always playing it. If its FIFA 10 then its likely to be him. i never play that online.

COD has regional servers which is what minimizes lag. So yeah, they pair you up with people in your region so there's a quicker ping resulting less lag. COD is the only game I know, so far, that does this, though I'm sure it's not uncommon. I noticed this too. When I'm in Auburn, I end up getting a lot of Southern-accented players yelling "neegurr this" and "neegurr that." It's interesting. I'm in Chicago now and all I hear are ten year olds saying "you fucking suck dick."

I miss the South.

Yeah.. i'm in IL also.. the north shore area. I get the same thing.. tons of little kids all under the age of like 14 trying to swear. So annoying. Now I only play when my friends are online from various locations that aren't the Midwest and have them invite me. I like to talk and plan while playing... when playing with those kids though... my only option is to mute my entire team. :\

I used to get the same thing with the southerners too! IDK what it is, but I only get that racist or whiny BS when playing with people from the States.. if the people are from Europe, Canada, Mexico, whatever... I almost never hear the same types of nonsense.

Depends on the game and the people... I rarely do with MW2 but I always do on L4D2 for example.

Yeah, lol.. PixieDelSol is what it is now. Now the little kids don't know right away that i'm a girl. I can do without the marriage proposals via xbox live simply for being a girl with a 360 lmao.

Only to shout "Two world wars and one world cup" to any participating Germans.

Nah. I very rarely use the headset, there is no point. 99% of the conversation is either someone insulting my mum or somebody telling me to go have tea and scones with the queen.
