Thirsty Koalas

Just got this in an email....pretty cute.

AT 120 DEGREES IN AUSTRALIA , IT WAS SO HOT FOR A WEEK THAT KOALAS WERE ASKING PEOPLE FOR WATER. IT'S NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE.

ONE WENT TO A HOUSE TO TRY TO HIDE FROM THE HEAT AND TO GET A BIT OF SHADE AND HERE'S WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE OWNER GAVE HIM SOMETHING TO DRINK. IT'S REALLY CUTE.

I love Koalas ... They remind of furry little people lol. I heard they can be quite vicious when pissed off though, to the point where their claws can swipe you open like a meat cleaver.

So be nice to the furry people.

I remember when there was a fire a while back in Australia and firefighters were giving them water.

I like going on break and seeing them @ work.

But they usually are sleeping.

Life must suck to be a Koala. Your only food to you poisons you.

I think something similar happened in a forest fire like a couple of months back.

Very nice creatures unless you fuck w/ them. Then they'll claw out your face.

I saw a Koala in a tree near my house for a few days, because Australia has been in a draught for the last 10 years it's bringing them closer to the burbs.

They're always stoned.

Yeah how can that suck all they do is get stoned, shit, get more stoned, root and sometimes get so stoned they fall out of the tree.. dude, that's like my ideal life

Thats a myth. It's not that they get stoned but the nutrition from the leaves is not enough to make them very active and to digest it they need to sleep alot. Kinda like Panda's. Atleast thats what I was told by someone at a conservation park type thingy-ma-bob.

koalas have a slow metabolism which causes them to sleep alot and appear to have the munchies when active and dry mouth when it's hot

Unfortunately, you are correct Artsy.. but who cares about a mammal that sleeps between 18 and 22 hours a day!?
Now a Koala that eats leaves to get high, that's an animal I wanna see.
