Youtube Account "Permanently Disabled"

Ive tried to log in with my user name and password but the following message comes up:

Your account has been permanently disabled.

I read my emails and they mentioned that i uploaded a video which was causing copyright infringement and as a result my account had been permanently disaabled.


What shall/can i do about this?

I've emailed them asking if they can revoke my ban and that i shall remove the video and not upload it again.

I did not know that the video was copyrighted.

I did not receive a warning to remove the video.

Has this happened to any of you?

Help would be very much appreciated and please let me say that i would like to get the same account back because i had many videos saved as favourites and my friends list was on it. Creating a new account would not be the same.

2. They were my real friends at school/uni/college/some family members.
3. It will take a while to find the same videos, they were rare.
4. Some videos were mine and now i dont have access to the ones on my original account.

No, when uploading you are told not to upload anything that you don't own/have authority to upload:

By clicking "Upload Video," you are representing that this video does not violate YouTube's Terms of Use and that you own all copyrights in this video or have authorization to upload it.

So if you didn't know you were legally allowed to upload it, you shouldn't have.

it was just a comedy video of postman pat.

they are my real friends. i dont use youtube to chat. just to share videos if i come across some good or funny ones. and sometimes just comment on them. probably even some we upload ourselves.

exactly.

i mean it was just a homemade clip which someone made and spreaded around on limewire in the first place.

when i first had my youtube account i just wanted to upload a funny video or two.

and there we go i get a ban. other people upload 9 min clips of movies in 12 parts! i upload a 55 second clip and get a permanent ban.

I keep losing my rare YouTube videos too
