So my brother cracked my bumper when he ran into something i ono wat.. Anyway I tried going to Honda first. They quoted me $1200 do get a new bumper painted and to put it on. i said u must be out of your mind!!

So I was asking my coworkers and one of them had an uncle that did all this kinda stuff. I went on Craigslist and got an oem bumper for $100(half the price of what Honda was selling it for). I dropped by this guys body shop and heres wat hes bout to do for me:
Paint Job ($200)
Removal of old bumper ($25)
Installation of new bumper ($25)
Realignment of hood...that my brother fucked up too (free)

My total cost including a brand new bumper.. $350

Connections are great :)

Take the bumper off yourself, its easy, and put the new one on yourself. You may need a friend to hold it for you and help you a little, but its not hard. That way you save yourself an extra $50; if you want.

My girls car needed the air intake replaced, I got quoted $300 for the part and labor. Fuck that. We have this place here called You Pull It, its basically a wrecking yard sorted by manufacturer and you can take whatever you can salvage for a few bucks. I found a new intake and paid $2 for it, and then installed it myself in about 15 mins.

We went to the place together and it actually turned into a kind of nice day spent together, weather was great, etc etc.

So, $300 bucks or $2 + A nice day?

The downside with this is that you need to know what you're doing.

yeh i was actually thinking about going to a junkyard and finding a bumper. problem is i dont got time with school and work. plus that includes more work to get the paint off and prep it for a repainting. so 100 for the bumper plus 50 to put it on.. not a bad deal since i dont have to deal with anything. and 200 for a paint job is just amazing.

yeh but if it was like ur case where it was an enterior engine part that i had to get i would definitely go to a junkyard for that. 300 is insane man. most of those guys are crooks
