White Sox close to aquiring Alfonso Soriano

Uh oh indeed.

Look at the hitting in that line up already, and then they might add Soriano!? Damn. If they go and get another SP they'll be straight.

I just hope the Nats get alot of good in return for him.

^ basically the same place they were before the break

i'm not worried about the yankees as much as i am about how far we'll get in the playoffs. obviously goal #1 is to win the division, but i think we can do that with the team we have.

mussina should be starting his second half slide pretty soon.

may i remind you of the last 9 years?

only difference this time is the sawx wont have the WC to fall back on

all im telling you is that history isn't on your side

why would you count out the yankees, seriously? you red sox fans need to get it through your thick heads.

the red sox had the better team in 04, but they still didnt win the division now did they?

3 games aint shit man

and theoretically the knicks can make the playoffs too

just because its possible doesnt mean its gonna happen

two of my teams, the white sox and knicks, mentioned in the same thread...awesome! (and, no, the knicks will not make the playoffs.) anyway, my boys need to do something. the month of july has sucked for them. we don't really need the power or the hitting; we got that. it's our pitching that needs work. we got that macdougal cat, so hopefully he'll be the jenks of last year. i think it's ironic that the same awesome pitching staff who did amazing in the playoffs is close to being the downfall of a great team. i also think guillen's walking on eggshells and therefore the team does not have the fire under their ass right now.

but soriano, as much as i dogged him for his attitude problems with my hometown nats at the beginning of the season, would be great for my southside boys.

White Sox GM Ken Williams denied the rumors that an Alfonso Soriano deal was done and said Monday that he "had no intention" of trading pitcher Brandon McCarthy, the Chicago Tribune reports. The White Sox acquired reliever Mike MacDougal from the Royals on Monday, and Williams admitted to the Tribune that he might not be done dealing. The White Sox were reportedly close to acquiring the Nationals All-Star outfielder. ESPN The Magazine's Tim Kurkjian heard from a source close to the Chicago White Sox that the Nationals were interested in young pitcher Brandon McCarthy in exchange for Soriano.
