Today i noticed a white dot on the screen of my laptop moving. i thought it was just a spec of dust until it was moving across the text i was reading.

i then turned the screen off and saw two on the screen and looked elsewhere and saw two on the white keyboard.

i got a wet tissue and wiped them off and then dried it with the dry end of the tissue.

im just wondering if anyone knows what these insects are and how they may have came.

i thought that maybe they were dust mites, but ive read that dustmites are blue and rectangular.

these white insects just look like microscopic dots. i noticed similar ones on the window sill downstairs a few years back. - not sure if its anything to do with this particular season either. its a damp day outside, quite moist.

Were you at work or home? I think we have mutated bugs in my office building. I think I've seen one of the bugs you're talking about...it was kind of translucent though. Have no idea what it is.

keco, you get a special thank you because you're being serious about this.

i think you may have seen the same one as i have. they were kind of translucent, but i couldnt really tell as they were against light backgrounds and didnt scrutinise the ones against the screen as i just wanted to get rid!

i was working from home. there's lots of trees and plants in my area and it was a damp day in the morning. its now a little sunny, though im at uni - not at home. so i dont know if its anything to do with weather conditions i.e. warm, damp, cold, humid... in combination with dust, mess etc...

my desk has a tendency to get very messy with all my notes etc...

when we fitted out kitchen 2-3 years ago we used to get a lot of silverfish on the floor tiling, then i read about it and i think they were attracted to the grout (glue) so we killed them all with poison. they eat paper - not sure if these white insects eat paper also.
