This goes out to those who are in college, but highschool students can reply too

So what subjects are you doing in your course at university?

I just got back from choosing mine and i just had to laugh because everything i chose had NOTHING to do with what i'm actually doing at uni.
THe core subject that i had to do was
Systems Implementation 2 - which is apparently one of the hardest subjects you can do at my campus.
the others i got to choose which were:
Movie Milestones - You watch a movie every week (pulp fiction, clockwork orange) and then you discuss the movie. 40% of the marks you get from participating in discussions in class.

Digital Imaging with Photoshop - which i don't actually go to uni for. I get a video sent to me through mail on how to use photoshop (which i already know) and they put in the requirements on the net on what we have to do and we submit through the interent (course by corespondence)

Philosophy: Themes from popular culture. Apply all the Kant, Zen, Pluto, Aristotle, and philosophical shit to movies such as The Matrix and Lord of the Rings and TV shows such as Simpsons and Family Guy.

Biggest bullshit ever, and i can't wait to start.
Best thing is i've only got 1 exam (for the core subject)

I'm gonna be a senior next year in high school and I'm taking all of the easiest classes. I'm not even gonna really worry about school next year, I'm just try to have as much fun as I can for my last year in high school.

I'm on my semester break now so when I go back in a month I will be doing:
-applied anatomy and physiology
-school experience 1
-determinants of health
-social perspectivies on education
-indigenous australia: land and culture

All my modules are compusary because it's an acredited degree.

Analogue & Transform Techniques
Control
Digital Circuits and Communications
Data Structures & Algorithms
EM & Distributed Circuits
Laboratories & Engineering Applications
Microprocessors
Noise, EMC and Signal Integrity
Numerical Methods
Recording Studio Techniques & Technologies ....

my subjects are horrible, I study business and only one of them is about companies, and it's just an introductory subject, I'm in my first year. Next semester they'll become more interesting, I hope.
The other subjects I do are:

History: (I'm siting for the final exam tomorrow, wish me good luck!)

Philosophy: useless, we study logic and I don't know how it's gonna help me in the future, if I become a manager or I decide to run my own company

Law: one of the subjects I love, although we have to study too many things by heart

Maths: difficult, but I know it's necesary, and I'll be useful next year when I have economy

I know how you feel. I'm studying Business as well and I wasn't very impressed with the first year. I hope next year is more interesting.

I do business information systems. I hate computers and i'm over all the business subjects. I've been doing them for 3 years so that's why i chose the most easiest and most bullshit subjects possible. Uni subjects don't necessarilly help you get a job after university, all that does assist is that white peice of paper that says that you have a bachelor in your degree. Your results matter as well, but that's not even that big of a deal. Experience is more vital these days.

when do u all start your next 'semster'# or whatever? I just finished and im done till oct 10

Right now, since its summer, I'm taking Physics in summer school. I failed the 2nd semester of it in 9th grade, retook it in the 10th, and failed it again. So this will be my 3rd time. I am passing with a 95 though.

I fucked up bad last year.

1st semester I failed Spanish, Literature (which is my best subject, normally), and Applied Algebra.

2nd semester I failed Physics, Biology, and Applied Algebra.

I needed 10 credits to get in the 11th grade, I only have 8.5 right now. After summer school, I'll have 9, and then I'll start off the year in 10th grade again.

But I will still graduate in 2007 because of two reasons
#1 - I'll take online courses to makeup for the previous classes I've failed
#2 - I'm dropping to tech prep and its a much easier course of study
