What Makes an Adult?

Seriously, What makes an adult?

I am 19 years old, turning 20 soon.

It baffles me of how some people can say "You're very mature for your age, responsible...etc so, i consider you an adult."

meanwhile, others say "You're very mature but your still a kid."

I know I don't have to prove to anyone that I am an adult, otherwise I would be childish.

However, its put me into a state of confusion of why I am seen completely different from some people, than others.

Is it appearance? Some say I look 22, some say i still look 17...

I know appearance gives a false sense, but im talking about the people that truly know me. So why would they judge me by appearance if they know that i am responsible and stuff?

I know i ask a lot of questions, and i thought maybe that could be it, but i know geniuses ask questions, adults do too. So, again i am baffled.

So, In your opinion what makes an Adult?
also, in your opinion what does society think?

At nineteen you're still a teenager. I wouldn't worry too much about becoming an adult now.

I matured late because, well, genius does.

an adult is someone who takes responsibility for themselves and of their own actions..thats what makes a person a mature adult..it doesn't really matter what age you are once you realize there won't always be a back door in life and some things u just have to face even if you don't want to..and thats what matters

not really, it just had me wondering how people can see totally different views. its just a question.

No lie, I have fun because i know how to be a kid, i just think im adult enough to not let it overtake my life. For example, i will go party every so often but i wont if i know i got an important exam or work the next day early or something you know?
