Technology What do you know about Burglar alarms?

Looking to replace and improve my parents home security. They've just had a large extension done and the old alarm system needed upgrading. However it was fairly old and I couldn't be fucked so I ripped part of it out.

I now need a new system. Probably going to get a wireless system as it'll be less hassle as all the walls and ceilings are new now.

Well I tried to persudae them that 2 Dobermans were a better idea, but I failed. So now I chose the Powermax +. Good stuff. Detects smoke, flood, gas, burglars. Tells you when your kids get in. You can add cameras. You can dial in and turn on up to 14 different appliances, like aircon, TV, heating, Lights. And off again.

You can arm it by mobile.

It's all good shit.

You have a unique keyfob, or you can type a unique code in the pad if you don't wanna add keyfobs.

Obviously if you've been kidnapped that is different. But also pretty unrealistic.

Yeah. It can store up to 3 mobile numbers. Any type of alarm it notifies you. Tells you what the alarm is. Then you can ring up and listen in on the sensors and see if you hear activity. Or if you have added the mini wirless cameras you can view them for activity.
