I got arrested 6 months ago buying beer. I had 2 cases of beer that i put on the counter, the clerk did not ID me, and i stepped out with it. Cops arrested me in the back and gave me a Minor In Posession.

What was the consequence?

The man that sold it to me got a 500$ ticket

Me? I'm on my 5th court date, my fees in court are going to be about 700 dollars or more n i gotta take 10 classes for alcoholism.

Just wondering what i could do in order to talk 2 someone and say that it's bullshit how that dude got off so much easier than I

I assume you have a lawyer, have you asked them? At a stretch perhaps the bartender has breached their duty of care to prevent the sale of alcohol to minors, you suffered a loss as a result (therefore, making them negligent). I dont know how willing a lawyer would be to take a case on. Afterall, you would have known you were a minor and committed a crime... so how fair that is to him to seek compensation is questionable... I suppose that is why his penalty is already minimal in comparison to yours. Still, your best bet is to talk to a lawyer.

I can not believe it is costing you that much. I actually had two M.I.P.'s in my highschool days. The first one the judge droped and the second one only cost me $100 and a few hours of community service. Then again that was a few years back. My question is what did you plead? You should have just pleaded guilty or no-contest and things would have been much easier on you. I can not believe a MIP charge is causing you so much trouble.

5th court date? Dont tell me you plead not guilty.

Seems weird to me that they would waste that much valuable court time on you with such a small charge unless a) there is more too it, or b) you tried to fight it. If b, then really you have no one to blame but yourself.

Seems to me had it been as simple as you said and plead guilty or no contest you'd have been in and out in 1 day.

Here's how mine went. I go to my court date. Judge calls my name. He read's the charge and ask me how I plead. I say no contest he says ok and tells me I have a hundred dollar fine and 20 hours community service. Paid the money, did the service and never heard another word about it.

5th court date...? I got an underage consumption a few times. The most I ever got was a few alcohol classes and maybe a few days community service. I never tried to fight any charges tho. I just go in a plead guilty. We didn't have the choice of "no contest" in juvenile court.

I wouldn't try to fight it, it wouldn't be worth it. If you try to fight it they'll assume you haven't learned the lesson that underage drinking is bad...and they'll want to teach you that lesson. Just tell the judge what you did was wrong and blah blah blah...u won't do it again...
