Vlad the Impaler.

vlad the impaler was the ruler of Wallachia(in present-day southern romania).he got the name "the impaler" because ,well..he impaled people.that was his favourite way of execution.once when the turks invaded wallachia and they entered the capital they they were greated by 20 000 impaled turk heads.the scene made the turks retreat.he died on a battlefield in 1476.
that's a very short description of vlad but let's make it clear he is not,i repeat ,he is not a vampire.ok?:D

ok so he wasnt a real vampire, but he was the real dracula.

Vlad III the Impaler (Vlad Ţepeş IPA: ['tsepeʃ] in common Romanian reference; also known as Vlad Dracula or Vlad Drăculea and Kazıklı Bey in Turkish; November or December, 1431 – December 1476)

agreed:D i was just makin sure this was not going to turn into a "oh he was a blood drinking vampire.he was evil" type thing.he was a ruler.cruel, yes but he wasn't the first and neither the last to impale criminals and prisoners of war.there were others that ruled wallachia and impaled more people than vlad.it was not that uncommon back in the middle ages

Of course he's not a vampire. I'm talking about Vlad Dracula the sun of Vlad II Dracul. I was talking about his method of killing people. Do you think it was admirable since they were all criminals or was it just cruel? Also, I thought no one knew for certain how he died.

The guy who wrote the book about vampires based the character off this guy. But the guy who wrote the book also had never been to Transylvania before.

I do however find his underworld fortress and many great accomplishments (founding the city that is the capital of present day Romania) to be quite inspiring. He was only ruler for what, like seven years or so.

Right. Some have stated that the reason he acted in the manner that he did was because he had blood allergies that not only caused him to react violently whenever he was around it, but also made him crave to be around it, sort of like an addiction. Some guy had this theory in the late 80s.

no ,it's not admirable but he was not the only one doing that.he was cruel and a bit crazy.it is said that he used to impale small birds and rats while he was in jail.he was captured and before his second reign he used to do that in jail.
he died during a batle with the turks.after that he was beheaded and his head was deliveder to the sultan
