Technology Viruse is detected on my computer!!!!!!

I was trying to open this folder somebody send me in my mail box and i was 'save target as' and before i did that warning message from mcafee came up sayin viruse is detected and you need to scan your computer and thats what i did, i scanned all kinds of ways. ad-aware,spy bot and mcafee scan and anti viruse scan all them i did once just so make sure it wal all cleaned. now, it did say what kinda viruse was it but i didnt have time to write it down cause i waas rushin so fast didnt wanna wait and i scanned right away. during the scan nothin was detected, why didnt anythin detected if i had viruse?

also is there any other way i can just fully clean up and make sure theres no virus, i wanna double check u know.

help please!!

Thats because the file you were trying to open contained a virus. Mcafee just warned you that a virus had been detected and probably stopped you from opening that file.

Is your computer running more slowly than usual? Any other virus warnings coming up?

You could look at what processes are running (Start > Run > taskmgr) and see if anything looks suspicious. Post a screenshot if you're not sure.

no, its not running slow. its running as usual and this was the first viruse warning i got since i got this new PC. nothin since.
