Technology Upgrading My RAM

Hey guys, anybody ever upgraded their RAM? I know how 2 put the memory sticks in and everything, only concern i had is compatabliity issues....anybody ever had any?

And also do you have 2 install new drivers?

I have a Dell by the way

You don't need drivers for RAM. The only problems people typically have is if they use cheap RAM. If you go through a reputable dealer and do not purchase the cheapest RAM available, you should be fine. Also, make sure you get the correct speed/type of memory for your system. It also helps if you purchase RAM with a life time warrenty in case of problems.

actually if you find cheap ram buy it. but make sure the name brand is reputable.

Lastime i upgraded my Ram to 248 plus my 128ram put two togther. but i was thinking to put 512mb value select DDR400 but not sure if that can compatable with my system.

thanks guys, i'm upgrading from 256 MB to 1 Gig. which is basically two 512 Sticks. should arrive by Thursday , so i'll let u guys know how that goes.
