Technology Upgrading a Laptop?

My question is........can you? I don't even know......i asked cuz my friend has a laptop and he wants 2 upgrade it. In particular, the Ram. Do Laptops even use the same type of Ram Sticks that Desktop's use?

Differnt types of RAM, but yeah it is possible. Anything other than RAM isnt really possible tho.

Laptops are almost impossible to upgrade weither be it RAM, HD, motherboard. I have seen a couple of website which show users how to upgrade particular laptops but you need to start googling your laptop and find information on that.

btw what laptop are we talking about?

You can add more ram, its basicly not possible to upgrade a processor on a laptop. It's just not worth it and working on them is totally different than a PC and is a bitch. Plus all the parts are so expensive.

i think he has a Sony Vaio, not exactly sure which model though. I was gonna do it 4 him, but from what u guys are saying i think i'd better leave it 2 a professional. Plus i was browsing for the laptop RAM sticks and it's so different man......so many different pin types....and i doubt he knows which kind his laptop uses.
