New Orleans-based label Cash Money Records may be sued by rap group U.N.L.V., who say they’ll move forward with the action if the company does not act soon to pay them past royalties.
"We now join such artists as Juvenile, Mannie Fresh and B.G., who have sued Cash Money for payment," said group spokesperson Ronald Bell in a statement.
U.N.L.V., who has released such albums as 6th and Baronne and Uptown 4 Life, is also reminding folks that the 2004 hit single "Go D.J.," from Cash Money artist Lil Wayne and producer Mannie Fresh, was inspired by U.N.L.V.’s song of the same name.
“We created the song in 2004 to glorify all the DJs who are responsible for breaking the records,” said Bell.
The group will drop new album Gutta Muzik in Feb. 2007.
