^yeah I heard of videos circulating around (I think it was) Thailand, like a 'highlight' tape of the worst shots of the wave hitting the shore...I don't understand why anyone would watch that for entertainment :(

That second island looks extremely fucked up.

^^I don't think that the 'earth is fighting back'.
Rather there seems to be a mis-estimation of how powerful humans really are. I think that people have forgotten that humans are naturally equipped with nothing that they can use physically to protect and maintain themselves.
So when exposed to any kind of natural event we are helpless to save ourselves.

except ofcourse the fact that we have brains and emotional intelligence etc

shorty after the tsunami hit the islands they were showing some videos on tv and i thought "this small wave killed thousands of people and destroyed whole islands?"
then one or two days later they showed other videos and i understood why it was that bad. the video was showing one single person who was on the beach (which was empty, no other people). then the camera (the person filming was standing on a restaurant on the hills) moved to the left and you see this huuuge wave coming, moving towards the beach..and the man wasnt moving at all and i was thinking "why the hell didnt he recognize this wave? it isnt possible not to recognize it!"...seconds later the wave hit him and he was gone...
