Thoughts about the Tookie situation

agreed. i dont believe in the death penalty. its basically taking the role of god. they shouldve left him in prison where he couldve made a bigger difference

most definately..he coulda wrote more books....and him being in prison WOULD have shown the newer generations that his actions and joing a gang n etc..put him in jail. and he is locked up for making that mistake. that would have been a stronger statement than having him executed.

true, but he used his influence to attone for his crimes, and in doing so saved more than a few people from leading the same life of violence.

true. i agree with u..but i guess when u wrote..made up for his past..i just wanted to clear that up. :thumb:

well i was just watching cnn. And i dont know if this has already been said, but they had the cameras outside of the prison and there were a lot of people there, and it said that he will be given the lethal injection at 3:01 et. Which 12:01 on the west coast, which is where the prison is at. And the reporter was saying no matter where you stand on this, its a somber mood around the prison.

nah it hadnt been said by ne1. oh wow..so hes passing in less than 5hours. u meant AM right?

cant imagine wut hes thinking right now.

Oh they just said that a minute, to make sure the supreme court doesnt do a last minute "rollover" or something like that. And they also said that jesse jackson has visited him in court today.

Edit, also if anyone wants to watch it, they are covering it a lot on fox news channel and cnn.

i dont know that much about the guy himself. i know he wrote books and did antigang stuff. and i dont believe in death penalty. let the guy be in jail and stay there for the rest of his life, but dont kill him.
but tookie co-founded one of the worst gangs ever that killed thousands of people. he cant make up for those thousand of people he killed indirectly no matter what he does. and writing books doesnt mean shit to me. its easy to pretend being rehabilitated. write book, say gangs are bad, be against everything that made u jailed. at the end of the day it doesnt mean ur now a good person.

and if he's getting killed this night, it must be because they have more proof that he commited the crime than that he hasnt.

also what i cant believe is that he can save the life of strangers and help kids stay out of a life of crime and gang activity, but he cant stop his own children? his kids are animals. what kind of a shitty human being puts a gun to a 13 year olds head and forces her to perform oral sex on them?

Can you tell me more about his kids?

the biggest thing is, he never admitted to killin' the people. He coulda "changed" but he isnt repentant for the crime of which he has been convicted so how in hell did any of you think he'd get clemency? His point was that one of the witnesses was an illegal immigrant w/ a violent history & that wasnt made public durin the trial so it "coulda been him". Well multiple courts includin the 9th District which is the most liberal in america, turned him down. His argument held no water.

On top of that, he's been involved in violence+murder in prison, i understand its hard in prison but there are some cats who truly turned their life around in jail & didnt commit any violence in there & they still got the chair or lethal injection but not many people got behind their cause, why? because they werent "celebrities".

Don't make this into a political thing, both Dems & Republicans have turned down clemency in Cali, shit the last Cali Governor to grant clemency was Reagen back in the 70's.

The guy wasn't gonna get clemency pure n simple, if you dont agree with the death penalty fine, go to the legislature & complain. Do not put all your effort behind convicted killers, thats not how you are gonna get the law changed.

^Your a fucking idiot. Seriously. Just the fact that your bring up Tupac in this is fucking stupid, like that is supposed to hold weight to support his death. Man he started the gang who might of killed Tupac, dont forget that, who cares. He is only responsible for his own actions and no other mans. He put a name to something going on way before his time. Should our founding fathers be responsible for every death in this country? Just cus he started the crips dont mean shit, a gang is just a group of friends with a name, along the way you do what you have to do to survive. It's not all bad but it's not all good. Fucking stupid.

I admire his works, but the guy was a criminal, period. If he is that much a saint he should be appreciative to God that he lived old enough since he could have been killed way before.

that was the dumbest thing ever thadan, just because they possibley killed 2pac has nothing to do with it, he had nothing to do with the crops when they killed 2pac. by this time the crips were a totally different organization except using the same name. that's like saying biggie deserved to die just because 2pac didnt like him.

evil creates evil, that's my point, he didn't have anything to do with 2pac's murder, but still he founded the gang, some neo-nazis act like retards because of the only one man that created the movement, hitler

one man founds a movement that leads other people to take actions they wouldn't have taken if they hadn't followed that movement

i just find pretty far-fetched that incredible admiration for that guy and the actions he indirectly brought since we're on a 2pac board

plus an attempt to relate to street gangs on a internet forum is also pathetic since most of you all paying so much respect probably didn't even know that particular man existed before the media hype a week ago

and yes he was known for having a violent behavior in his past and joined criminal acts, which leaded him to prison, maybe he gained his ticket to heaven, but still he paid for his crimes, and there is no reason to blame arnold, he is a governor, not god, politicians daily take decisions that don't necessary embrace their point of view, laws are made by men, blame those who created it
