Technology This goddamn .RAR crap....

ok, i've had winrar for a while now, and i've unzipped so many files using it....the only thing is that now i gotta send an album and need to use winrar, but i dunno how to actually zip them....the only options that appear on the toolbar on top are just options to unzip or virus scan them....so if anyone can help me.....give me a new prog. if there's a better one.....

and what is the point of using winrar? it zips all the files into just one? is that it? is there a benefit to this?

Highlight all the files you want in the .rar, then right click and select 'Add "blah.rar"'. Don't do it in WinRar, its just on your regular desktop.

Like choppa said, just highlight the files, right click and choose "Add to [whatevr].rar" or (if you want to change the archive name, type of archive (rar, zip etc) or the level of compression) "Add to archive".

It compresses the files, so the .rar file is smaller than the individual files combined.

It's also a lot easier to send one .rar file to someone than lots of individual files.
