I am sure not many of you have heard of the Red Tree Octopus but it is in danger of no longer being around. Everyone needs to do their part to make sure this animal does become part of the many animals that are not longer with us. This is more impotant that global warming and save the whales combined. The Red Tree Octopus needs all of our help. Please read up on it. :)

How You Can Help:

Place a tentacle ribbon on your website.
Someone should have a word with Rukas.

We really need to do something about this, because I don't want to live in a world where the Red Tree Octopus doesn't exist...

seriously, a squid that lives in the jungle. didn't even know that existed, but that is only like, the coolest thing ever.

i will donate money to this thing, how do i do this?

the only way i can help this thing out is by breaking it's name down etymologically...

cephal- head
pod- foot..

head-foot..... ba-zing.... it is raining outside...

You've never heard of it, but imagine how our children are going to feel when they wake in a world where the Red Tree Octopus doesn't exist. We're ruining the planet for our kids, read the article: "Other tree octopus species -- including the Douglas octopus and the red-ringed madrona sucker -- were once abundant...but have since gone extinct".

I can't believe there are so many suckers, and so many species of octopus that we don't know about because they've been wiped out. If someone told you about these, you'd think they were made-up animals, just because we've ignored them and they've ended up going extinct.

It makes me angry how much disregard there is for the environment, and for nature. Some people just need to wake up, this stuff is unbelievable.

lmao @ Ill

you almost forgot to mention the predators of the red tree octopus

"The reasons for this dire situation include: decimation of habitat by logging and suburban encroachment; building of roads that cut off access to the water which it needs for spawning; predation by foreign species such as house cats; and booming populations of its natural predators, including the bald eagle and sasquatch. "

Has anyone seen the National Geographic special with the amateur footage of a man being swallowed by an octopus? I do not fuck with octopus because of this video.

Off with the tree octopus.

i was so high when i read this i didn't really think so far as to think it was a joke. i'm not american so a sasquatch could easily live in the jungle as far as i would know. i didn't make the connection when i read "bald eagle" though.

this is not a funny joke!!
