...is really fucking tiring now. There's very little entertainment to be had from Our Block anymore unless you are, or have the mental age of an under 16. Our Block basically consists on linking to news reports, sniping at other members due to your own insecurities and YouTube videos. There's also been a complete lack of a community feel since Rukas stopped his daily involvement. It has no direction, very few members with genuine character and a whole load of "gangs" intent on pissing off members and making a story out of nothing.
I know there's always been "exposures" and posts to videos and piss taking (jokes at others expense). You expect it on a forum, it's prett much standard fare. The problem with Our Block at the moment is that the humour is almost non-existant as there's too much negative intent and a lot of "one-upmanship" where people just trade insults and arguments. It's boring to read for existing members and won't attract positive new members as they'll see how petulant the members are and not even consider registering.
I've always been the first to ask why people make threads like these instead of just leaving but now i'm starting to understand how they feel. The site has been briliant in the past and it's only a keeness to make it better that's making me post this but it needs a collective effort. All this clique mentality of "if you don't pat me the back and tell me how good i am i'll snipe at you" needs to be changed, people need to start responding and posting in reply to the content of the post rather than the username above it.
I know we'll have the cliques in here with the usual "catchin feelings" comments and back slapping but ask yourself this beofre you reply, if you're a key member of this board, does that say more about you or more about how much standards have slipped on this site?
