It seems like i'm one of very few people my age that listens to the cure. These guys brought us so many classics and alot of there bass and guitar riffs are being modenized and used in songs today (Are you going to be my girl by Jet is actually from why can't i be with you by the cure) \
They played a big part in music in the 80's
Anwyay i'm sure there's SOMEBODY that listens to the cure?

If you've never heard of them, download boys don't cry by the cure and it should refresh your memory.

one of my favourite songs from the cure is Killing an Arab, which was about the book the outsider, which is a brilliant (and weird) book.

I think Lullaby is one of their most recognised songs, I'm sure people would recognise that.

"Are You Gonna Be My Girl" is "Lust For Live" by Iggy Pop.

I havent heard alot of their stuff, but i do like their song "Pictures of You", which i first heard when Lit done a cover of it, check that out and see what you think of it, then I saw a programme playing like 30 mins of The Cure and it was pretty good.

And the song they done with Blink 182 is great!

i dont have any of their cds but ive listened to them on Launch a couple times. pictures of you and love song are pretty good

The cure were a very good band! with there own sound, but back in the eighties there were a lot of bands with there own sound, The smiths sounded like no one else either.

Nah, you're definately not the only one. I dont have any of their CDs, but I do have a few songs here and there....mostly ones my brother downloaded, that started listening to. I think a lot of people would be familiar with their stuff if they heard the songs, but perhaps don't recognise the name.

If you like the Cure, you'll almost definitely like Joy Division. Similar bands, but JD played better. The only reason you probably haven't heard of Joy Division is that Ian Curtis, their lead singer, killed himself in 1980, the night before they were to go on tour in the United States.

Said Robert Smith of the Cure about Curtis, "We and Joy Division competed for the mope-crowd, the sad people. Ian cheated."

only have "Love will tear us apart" which is cool...any other good songs?

Joy Division is a band whose songs I like, period. I like everything they did, really. But to start out, I'd suggest:

Disorder
Transmission
She's Lost Control
Interzone
