I don't know who is the bigger idiot, the guy who released them or the people who haven't overhauled Ohio's exotic animal laws. Also... He owned a gun shop, so this story could have ended with a much worse outcome.

Thats so horrible. I don't blame the police for killing them, they did what the felt was neccesary, I blame the guy for setting them free and killing himself. Just because he wanted to end his own life, theres no reason why he should have put the animals and the police in that position.

They tranquilized one of the tigers but it started acting 'funny' so they shot it

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe they were expecting the bears to roam together? And maybe needing several shots per bear to immobilize it almost immediately? Imagine three or four accurate shots per bear and there like, five of them coming right at you.

Doesn't justify it but...I dunno. Ohio is a butt-fuck state to begin with.

They said that they only pissed the animals off by trying that, so they would be really dangerous for that short period before they went to sleep and in these circumstances immediate action was needed.

when I saw this on CNN, i was shocked. i get how they didn't have a choice but i wish they had other options. i dislike the guy who committed suicide after releasing these animals. he must have known that they would all die. bringing all these creatures in death with him is horrible.
