idk if it's mentioned after the first page, but another extremely tall guy (ex-tallest man) "Michael Ri" is like 7'9" (still growing) and plays bball for China. He's pretty damn good and he's been trying to get permission to come to the US and play since back when Ming was; they were both in the same struggle. But he still hasn't been able to convince his communist country
