My PS3 now has this.

It was really god damn easy to swap it. I actually used this guide.

I'd recommend doing it, it was really easy. I was afraid to try to use a HDD at 3.0gb/s for some stupid ass reason, I really don't think it would make a difference but I didnt want to take the chance. The only problem I had is that when it went to format the first time it didn't complete it, so that was weird, did it again and it's fine. Only reason I did it is so that I can have all my music (and some movies) on my PS3 also, 80gb wasnt enough.

So yeah I'm just excited about it, I don't even think it voids the warranty either (amazingly). I don't expect anything to happen to it anyway, yeahhhh.

Might as well ask a kind of relative question, anyone here use a Slingbox before? I don't see the need for puttin all kinds of movies on my PS3 to watch em on my TV and would rather keep em on the comp you know. And Slingbox is the easiest way to wirelessly do it so has anyone used one before, or something similar?

Nice man, I was looking at the same hd a few days ago, I'm gonna buy it too. Yeah, it doesn't void the warranty.
Nope, haven't used Slingbox, I know there's a few threads about it on the PS3 forum on the Sony boards, so take a look there.

^Yeah. Externals are more expensive and this was easy, and there is no point in getting an external cus I won't be taking it anywhere. Even if I wanted to share my data on the PS3 I can just get to it through a friends PS3 anyway. So really there was no point in using an external when this was easy as it is. Plus an external sittin by the PS3 just doesn't look as good.

^^ no even cheaper.. i paid 130 for a 500 gig hdd and then bought a 20 dollar case for it... and it was 160 in total for a 500 gig with a case that was not only extremely durable, but has one touch backup....
