Im from the East Coast,im from the east but still got mad love for the West Coast down south and everywhere in-beteewn,i ain't trippin.
i listen to a lot of stuff,Pac,Nas,Kool G Rap,Big Pun,but i've lately been listening to mostly old school alot because i ain't really feeling all this flashy look at my mouth full of diamonds, my big rims and night clubs full of strippers,the beats might be bangin' but the lyrics are mad weak,i miss the grity and grimy hip hop of the past,like Onyx,Wu-Tang,Ghetto Boys,spice-1,Mc eight,there mane focus in there music was never money hoes & clothes,they had certain aspects of that but it was never the mane focus.
it seems like now all the real lyricist can't get major distribution anymore because most labels probably consider them old and out dated,they'd rather snig some 18 year old with no lyrical talent, but has a "Street Buzz" and a some what moderately successful producer backing them.
i've lately been stuck in the early 90's,mostly east coast stuff old school a little underground and independent.
