IMO it came from America and western europe (Italy fe.).
I always laughed so hard at those slim clothes on men looking like they're female etc. but unfortunately it also came here all of the sudden.
All those gay big ass glasses, men coloring their hair, small ass puma/lacoste shoes, pink clothes, gay furry hats and now since hip-hop is fashionable they also wear those slim jeans the way that their belts are below their ass, combine that with too small t-shirt and you can see their whole underwear (with big ass D&G symbols on them of course).

On the other hand I observed a strange female fashion this year that looks so lame that it's even hard to describe.
In short I see hundreds of girls that look somewhat like that:

they are considered fashionable here in montreal. everybody i know owns at least one pair of them. i had a pair of skinny jeans but that was before i gained weight

Those are scene kids...I'm not a fan. But the skinny jeans are not a new trend...and they can be worn and look flattering.
