Even though I believe that anyone should be able to let their thoughts and opinions flow freely in whatever thread made/created etc. I also think that StreetHop (general rap/hip-hop music) need's a stepping up as far as threads and general posts are concerned. Now I put part of the blame on mine and the moderators shoulders because even though Im not a mod, I consider myself somewhat of a veteran these days and I should be posting more relevant topics etc.
However we can't mod everything and it's a shame when vets themselves start posting utter bullshit which in short is "my opinion over all y'all fuck y'all" type of thing. False facts, rumour based and overall no real relevance to music itself.
Im a big fan to having abit of fan on these forums, we might aswell consider ourself a big cyber family because for some we talk on here more than we talk to our actual families. Sad but true, but im not here to judge no one. I at times make an ass out of myself in threads but in the end of the day it's only to make peeps crack a smile and have a good ol' laugh which is what everone in this world needs.
The mods have been doing a great job, lead by Ruk/Jon/Sicc the forums come back like a phoenix from the ashes and rebuilt a nice following once again. But I think the Streethop forum itself (the initial purpose of this thread) needs a bit of stepping up to not only compete with allhiphop's ill community and sohh's forum but to eventually overtake them with numbers. But this isn't about competition, it's about posters dropping some knowledge. Or posting threads which actually scream "read me because it's interesting".
Maybe if we get a sub-forum for downloads (songs, lps) happening inside streethop itself. And possibly make sticky's for every big event which happens atleast once a month (eg. 50 Cent, JMJ's death etc..) we could minimise repeatitive shit. Im just dropping opinions here, nothing to be take personal. But as someone who's bludged a couple years in here and overall grown and matured (to an extent raaaaaghhhhh) as time went by, i'd really like to see this forum keep ticking away for years to come. Or atleast 'till Ruk/Jon/Sicc say fuck it no more.
