"Leading animal behavior scientists from across the globe now tell us that chickens are inquisitive and interesting animals whose cognitive abilities are more advanced than those of cats, dogs, and even some primates. Chickens understand sophisticated intellectual concepts, learn from watching each other, demonstrate self-control, worry about the future, and even have cultural knowledge that is passed from generation to generation. Dr. Chris Evans, who studies animal behavior and communication at Macquarie University in Australia, says, “As a trick at conferences, I sometimes list these attributes, without mentioning chickens, and people think I’m talking about monkeys.”

Chickens comprehend cause-and-effect relationships and understand that objects still exist even after they are hidden from view.2 This puts the cognitive abilities of chickens above those of small human children.3 Scientists are so impressed with what we now know about the intellect of chickens and other birds that a group of international experts recently called for a new naming system to reflect the complex, mammal-like structure of avian brains.4 Dr. Christine Nicol, who studies chicken intelligence, reflected, “They may be ‘bird brains,’ but we need to redefine what we mean by ‘bird brains.’ Chickens have shown us they can do things people didn’t think they could do. There are hidden depths to chickens, definitely.”

When in their natural surroundings, not on factory farms, chickens form complex social hierarchies, also known as “pecking orders,” and every chicken knows his or her place on the social ladder and remembers the faces and ranks of more than 100 other birds.6 People who have spent time with chickens know that each bird has a different personality that often relates to his or her place in the pecking order—some are gregarious and fearless, while others are more shy and watchful; some chickens enjoy human company, while others are standoffish, shy, or even a bit aggressive. Just like dogs, cats, and humans, each chicken is an individual with a distinct personality."

Article from some stupid PETA website about chicken cruelty by KFC. Now while, i don't dispute that KFC prolly does treat their chicken like shit, I so hate these fucking hippy punks that feign science in order to push their own little agenda.

Let's take a simple look at some of the excerpts:

"Chickens understand sophisticated intellectual concepts, learn from watching each other, demonstrate self-control, worry about the future, and even have cultural knowledge that is passed from generation to generation"

Sophisticated intellectual concepts? I've tried to talk about Das Kapital with a chicken once, didn't really work out. I also doubt they're going to grasp higher math or German literature. Seriously, what the fuck is an "sophisticated intellectual concept" that a chicken can understand? 1 piece of corn and another piece of corn makes more than 1 piece of corn? And cultural knowledge? Chickens have cultural knowledge? If only he'd be so kind to give us a little example, but of course not, because the jackass doesnt know himself what he means.

"Chickens comprehend cause-and-effect relationships and understand that objects still exist even after they are hidden from view.2 This puts the cognitive abilities of chickens above those of small human children."

Right. First off, human babies are stupid, seriously. Every young, whether its a bull shark or a sparrow, is stupid. Thats how shit works. Second, how can you say their cognitive abilities are better based on only that? Again, muchos examplaros wanted, but no.

"and every chicken knows his or her place on the social ladder and remembers the faces and ranks of more than 100 other birds"

A chicken doesnt worry about every chicken in the pecking order in a large group. If it did, it'd have no more time to do anything else but peck. In practice, chicken 50 will only worry about chickens 40 to 49, and only peck chickens he knows it can beat.

Second, of course the chicken knows who his chicken pals are. No matter how stupid you are, you're not unable to recognize your own kind, be you chicken or manitee. That has nothing to do with actual intelligence. This is just life in the natural world.

And if his self-righteous bullcrap isnt enough, there's a fruity picture of mr. Right on the page with the sentence:

"I'm a vegetarian because i realize that even little chickens suffer pain and fear and experience a range of feelings and emotions."

No fucking shit. Clap clap for mr. Rocketscientist. If chickens, or any other animal, couldn't experience pain, or fear, it's species would rather quickly die out.

Now, my point is, this dickwipe excuse for a man takes basic biological knowledge about the everyday function of animals in the natural world, applies them on chicken and acts as if he discovered that chicken are actually very intelligent! The audacity! And all because he's some veggy hippy belonging to an even hippier terrorist organization and he doesnt like KFC.

Damn, what a retard. It's types like him that make me want to grab a big kitchen knife and exert hacky and stabby death on anyone i see.

Chicken droppings have been found that formed full sentences, like quotes from the Bible and Shakespeare.

Aren't these the same animals that drown by looking in the air with their mouths open while it rains?

btw, they eat their own shit. that doesn't seem like rocket science to me.

lmao @ that site. Brilliant.

Anyone that ever held chicken or been around chicken for a while can safely say that they are truly stupid. :thumb:

PETA pisses me off like a can of radioactive tomato soup.
