meh...its not amazing. Depends how much it is.

EDIT; $730, i dunno. Looks good. If you need it, then get it. :thumb:

I'm up for a PSP.

Thing is I know I'll only use it once. I bought a GB advance SP, used it twice.
One of those things I buy in the airport.

It looks nice. And 100 gbs is a good amount of storage. Why not get a portable DVD player and an A4 folder that hold 100 DVD's? It's a cheaper alternative. But if you like it buy it. It's not too expensive. It's just the US $ is so weak compared to the £/Euro.

I meant burn your movies to DVD. You could get 2-3 per disk.

Just buy the media player. You know you really want too.

AV4100 vs DVX-POD 7010

Price: DVX-POD 7010 - $699 (I've seen a site where they listed the price at $499. I'm sure you'll be able to find lower prices for both)

AV4100 - $730

Storage Capacity: AV4100 - 100 GB

DVX-POD 7010 - 20 GB

Video Playback: DVX-POD 7010 - DivX 4.x/5.1/5.2 (.avi), 30 fps at 720x480
DivX 3.11 (.avi), 30 fps at 352x288
Microsoft WMV V9 SP (.wmv), 30 fps at 352x288
Apple Quick Time 6 (.mp4), 30 fps at 640x480

AV4100 - MPEG-4 SP 704x480 @ 30 f/s, AVI file format

Video Recording: DVX-POD 7010 - MPEG-4 SP (.asf), 25 fps at 704x240

AV4100 - MPEG-4 SP with up to 512x384 @ 30 f/s, in AVI format.

Audio Playback: AV4100 - Stereo MP3 @ 30-320 kb/s CBR & VBR
WMA (including protected files)
WAV

DVX-POD 7010 - Stereo: MP3 and WMA, 44.1 kHz at 128 kbps

Display: DVX-POD 7010 - 7-inch Color LTPS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) Screen -- 6.5 inch viewable

AV4100 - 3.8'‘ TFT LCD

Battery Life: AV4100 - up to 16 hours for music or 4 ½ hours for video

DVX-POD 7010 - Not listed on the official site but I've read reports of 3-4 hours for video.

Dimentions: AV4100 - 125 x 78 x 26 mm

DVX-POD 7010 - 192 x 115 x 28mm

Weight: AV4100 - 320 g

DVX-POD 7010 - 570 g

Bottom Line

The AV4100 has the overall advantage when it comes to what Dave D is looking for. 100 GB memory on the AV4100 is orgasmic! The small screen size on the AV4100 results in the smaller size, lighter weight and the longer battery life.

If it was me, I'd go with the 7010. I'd look past the puny 20GB because the 7010 is just beautiful and the 6.5 inch screen shits on the AV4100. I'd buy the 7010 just for the movie playback so the 3.8 inch screen won't do it for me.

There is a third option, and that is to wait for the technology to improve. I'm expecting more of these gadgets to pop up in the market in the near future. The screens size, the battery life and the storage capacity is all bound to get better.
