SINGAPORE - A widely circulated sex video of a polytechnic student who lost her cellphone has sparked a flood of similar clips depicting couples intrigued by the “Tammy” saga, news reports said on Sunday.
The films are now openly swapped via phones, general chat boards, online file-sharing services and even on peer-to-peer networks, according to The Straits Times.
The 17-year-old Nanyang Polytechnic student identified only as Tammy lost her cellphone three weeks ago containing a sex video she made with her boyfriend.
It was picked up by someone else and gained such notoriety it was downloaded by Internet users as far away as the United States.
No legal action was taken against the humiliated student or her boyfriend. The school said it would take no punitive measures since the video was not made on its grounds or circulated at the facility.
At least seven other homemade films, more daring than the Tammy clip, are now making the rounds.
They show young couples, some in groups of three, in various positions, the report said. One video features a couple in a hotel room filming themselves in front of a mirror, while another shows three people in a bath tub.
Some have named the files according to where they were filmed. One two-minute clip is called “airport.”
