How big is the song and what filetype? It's could be a firewall but if it was it wouldn't let you send anything altogether.

Also, are you running a wireless connection? Or is the other person?

the firewall doesnt block completely.....it blocks the prefferred ports for direct transfer, forcing MSn to resort to (slow) http transfer. Also the rate is determined by your upload speed which i doubt is 1Mb....more like 256K

ok ... you know what ports i need to adjust on the firewall for this to work? :D

You said there's no firewall, so what's there to adjust? If file transfer is taking too long, send it to yousendit.com, and tell your friend to get it from there. See if that works faster.

u say no firewall right? well i bet you have a router dont you. routers have built in forewalls so check the config of your router.

some shit is blocked,so it wont let you have a direct connection with your friend.soooo that being said, the file u are sending, the packets are being upload to a server, then transfered to your friend from there, thus making the connection horribly slow.

if u got a router and dont want firewall, theres this thing called DMZ or dzm whatveer, it should be in ur router config, turn that shit on, takes care of a shitload of problems if u dont know shit about computers.

If you use your head, you can upload it on yousendit and then send the link to who ever you sending it to, you will save much time :thumb:
