just received issue number 20, which the website says is the final issue. why then, is there a subscription form in the issue? i don't think anybody wants to sign up for 8 when they will not be coming out. the actual mag (and i have only skimmed through it) does not mention that it is the last issue.

i suppose it might have been decided after this one was printed that it was going to be the last one.

now i have to get all the back issues of the ones i missed!
i loved the magazine. guess i will get XXL from now on.

i found there were much better industry releated magazine that were much better and more inspiring like mix magazine, digidesign's free mag digizine, recording magazine, tape op. all of them delt with recording, mixing, production, interviews with engineers, producers from all walks of life and genres including hip hop. scratch quickly became a magazine that had nothing more than ads, product placement, poor reviews of gear and software, interviews that were not always that great or informative, and rarely ever had any new ideas or shared anything. one of the only good things about it was that they would have a page dedicated to what samples were used on an album.

it was not supposed to be an alternative to the magazines you mentioned. as a bi-monthly supplement it was great. the ads? i don't mind. the content would not have been bigger had there been fewer ads. all the big pictures sparked many cool conversations on the train.

R.I.P Scratch.

Fuck, really? I just picked up #19 with TI and Clef on the cover.
That sucks.

I think I had most of them, I don't remember though because every time I have finished reading them I've given them to my cousin.

That sucks if there's not gonna be any more. Very good magazine.
