This is unbelieveable, how could she even stand up?
DRINK-DRIVER SENTENCED
A school dinner lady who drove her car while almost six times the legal drink-drive limit will appear in court today for sentencing.
Catherine Bickerdike, 29, pleaded guilty to driving with 183 micrograms of alcohol in her system - thought to be the second highest recorded for a female motorist in the UK.
She was stopped by police at her home in Waitron, Lancashire, after having driven about 10 miles from Heyhouses Junior School in St Annes.
The single mum, from Warton, Lancashire, had downed bottles of vodka the previous evening after splitting up with her boyfriend.
She drove into work at the school the following morning but was sent home after alcohol was smelt on her breath.
Police were alerted by terrified motorists who witnessed her swerving across the road.
She appeared at Blackpool Magistrates Court on June 22 and pleaded guilty to driving while over the legal limit of 35mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
Prosecutor Julie Mercer told the magistrates: "I have never come across anyone with such a high reading before."
Bickerdike has also pleaded guilty to an additional charge of dangerous driving on the same day.
She will appear at Preston Crown Court later today for sentence.
The maximum sentence for drink driving is six months in jail and a £5,000 fine, and the maximum for dangerous driving is two years jail.
:: The record drink drive limit for a woman was recorded by Rosemary Foster, 23, who was six and half times the limit.
Foster gave a reading of 225mg in a breath test when stopped by police in Altrincham, Cheshire in December 1996. She was jailed for four months and banned from driving for five years.
