I was just wondering........can I take a shower when Im on my period or is it bad to take a shower??

my friends mom (She is a doctor) she said it was fine to take a shower but with warm water not hot, and its bad to take a bath ? so i dunno

Lol ok so now Im confused, is it okay to take a shower with one of those tampax thingies on or can u take it without that one too?? And if u take a shower without those on can u like wash urself down there(ewwww) and not get a belly like a pregant womens????

take a shower with a tampax? nah take it without. and yeah u need to wash urself down there lol. it has to stay clean.

lol, i havent heard of getting a pregnant womans belly because of taking a shower during your period, you have to take a shower, because i dont think its sanitary to take a bath, even though most of the bleeding stops when your in water, But still, thats gross. And you have to stay clean or else you smell like a sewer. Well at least most woman do. So yes for sure take a shower, i just wouldnt take it too hot.

By the way i take offense to the pregnant woman belly comment. lol our stomachs arent THAT bad.

Girl, take a shower, nothing is wrong with it, you NEED to take a shower so you can stay fresh. The aroma of the blood when you're on your menustration already isn't nice, don't want to add other odors to that.

Nothing will happen to you if you take a shower, you actually stop bleeding once you're in water. The water will stop the blood flow. And it usually won't start back for another hour or two.

DO NOT take a shower with the tampon in, take that out and put on a fresh one once you are done.

You may become bloated, but as far as I know, that doesn't have anything to do with the shower, and there are pills that you can take that will stop the bloating. It won't last once your period is over.

Everyone I know it stops the blood from flowing, but then again, everyone is a different case, I've never heard otherwise though

I haven't been doing anything girl, working and going to school, well, i'm on break right now, but I'm at work in the mornings, and usually at my boyfriend's house in the evenings.

yeah it stops flowing for a while. but the time after being in water that it stops is not the same for everyone.
