question about a mixer i just purchased

i just purchased a digi design mixer off of ebay, its in great condition but the owner of the machinery was missing the cable that links the mixer to the computer. i think its called a midi cable, it looks like a printer cable but a bit smaller and doesn't screw into it.. but it looks like it would. i know it sounds complicated, especially without a picture of the mixers output, but if you could help me out it'd be greatly appreciated it. whats a good brand cord, does it matter? get at me. also, i need to purchase a good microphone, what'd be a good mic to get? i'm also looking for a computer, if anyone sees any deals, get at me and let me know because i'm trying to get enough equipment just to record tracks out of my home, imma set-up a small studio.

DigiDesign? Pro Tools? What is it exactly? The 001, 002? Mbox?

Oh if it is a digidesign product, you'd do best to talk to him about changing registration ownership so u can get upgrades in the future.

if its the MBOX then the cable i think your talking about is the USB that comes with it, i dont think its unique, you should be able to buy one anywhere

yeah it's a digidesign product... i'll go look at it in a minute and try to get the digital camera to take a picture of the prong on the back.
