Ok, I've been watching tv lately and every now again on "Room Raiders" or "date my mom" which comes on MTV, they have a gay episode...

Ok, we all know someone gay in life, I have 1 male cuz whose gay and like 3-4 gay female cousins so I'm used to who they bring around and everything which i have no problem with. Some are cool, this is actually directed at my male cousins gay friends cause i have no problem with lezbians .

But anyways.. this is the problem, The shit is out of line when it comes on regular channels.. especially MTV. Should stick with Payed channels for the explicit things such as 2 males kissing with funny rock music playing in the back ground.

It caught my attention cause i was walkin by the tv on my way to the kitchen and im used to hearing "Im sorry but i dont want to date your daughter"... but today was different shyt was wayyyyyyy different... I heard "im sorry but i dont want to date your SON"

I damn near fell over the kitchen table when i heard it..

But my question is this.. There may be gay ppl on this board.. i dont know dont care.. but the question is

Do Shows subject to homophobia /homophobic protest... really need to be broadcast on basic Cable?

i dont think it should, today i was watching some reality show and this girl went to an audition to a theatre, but unlike most theatres, in this one, u chose what to do, these two dudes were acting out a play and kissed, i was like wtf, its ok to do it but dont show it on fucking tv in the afternoon when people just come from work/school or whatever, just becuz gay is becoming the "norm" and is being more accepted dont mean people have to watch the shit on tv, i mean come on, if u cant show breasts on tv then why the fuck can u show two dudes kissing.

i dont mind gay people, they can live how they want as long as they dont do that shit infront of me or bother me with it, i dont like the whole gay parades, gay days or what have u, u dont see str8 people braging about being str8 and bein happy to love the opposite sex.
Now, not all gay people brag and pride bout it but the ones that do piss me off, you want to be treated equally yet you go out of your way to celebrate that your gay, wtf.

i agree a little, i dont like seeing this stuff on t.v. i did have a good laugh when i watched gay room raiders. but mtv has been trying to promote the gay rights for awhile. i remember around 2001 they had a commercial that showed two teenage guys looking at blueprints for a half pipe, they look at the finished half pipe, look into each others eyes and they embrace by kissing. i was shocked.

but this falls under the first admendment i think. so really its just cathing up with the times, trying to make everyone happy basically.

i dont think we need gay commercials. the orbitz.com commercial with the gay couple winning the trip, trying to let homosexuals out there know that orbitz.com has their own place on their site for gay people. its stupid and putting people into categories.

I agree with that, I'm not against gay people, (one of my best friends is gay) but it's not something natural, and I don't want my little cousin to see that on tv while she's having tea after school. If they want to show it, it should be later in the evening, when adults can choose if they watch it or not, but I don't think kids should be exposed to that.

But I agree with rukas, the problems are not only gays, in general, the tv is just sick, and there are too many other shows which set a horrible example for young people. But even worse is the fact that we continue watching all that stuff when we should have made it stop long ago. The whole society is fucked up and tv is a mere reflection of it
