Its true. So, here is my experiment, post something that you experienced where, for some reason, you tried to talk to your parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, or any other individual from past generations, about something relevant to us...

Back when GRODT was hot, i had it playing in my mom's cd player, and it got scratched. I went out and bought a new one, and my dad called later that day. He asked how my day went, I told him "My 50 Cent cd got scratched so I had to pay twenty bucks for a new one."
He replied... "You paid twenty bucks for a cd that costs fifty cents?"

damn dad...

My mom and I were shopping when she pointed to a 2 Fast 2 Furious poster of Ludacris and said to me

"hey, isn't that LL Coolio?"

Other than that cute story, my parents are at that age where they lack critical thinking - it's hard to have real conversation with them, especially with all the propaganda going around for the election.

Does that mean they're voting for Obama?

rofl. :) My discussion about drugs ended in no man's land, everytime. Back then.

My parents make no attempt to try and see what I'm in to. My dad tries to watch the Auburn games on ESPN, or at least I remind them to, but I doubt they do. :(

It's ok. I'd rather them atleast be there for me in other ways than just what I'm interested in. If they found out about my drinking and smoking, I'd be up shit creek. Further up shit creek than I am now. I hate my life.

My dad had more knowledge about 2Pac than I had assumed. He saw right through everything I ever lied about when it came to getting high. I only realized it after I quit. I dunno man, my parents understand a lot. If anything, they don't understand irrationality/emotions. Everything is a numerical equation.

My mom was a good catholic school girl so I try to corrupt her sometimes. I was the first person to get her drunk. It wasn't my intention to get her drunk but I didn't know she was a lightweight and would be drunk from one beer. I took her home with me and she ran and jumped on my bed and fell off. Fun times!!!

I also say things to her and try to get her to repeat them to other ppl. I'm currently trying to get her to say "Why you always tryna steal my swagg"

^^ lol

My dad and me have a good connection. He's actually into some forms of rap. We go out to play pool, eat, sometimes play a little footy if the weather allowes it. We like to drink together as well, lol.

Once I smoked the ganja with him and his brother (my uncle) during a sailing trip. Fun times.

My mother is less "connected" with me. She's also more the worrying type.

So yeah, not complaining about non-understanding parents here.

"Catholic" and "good" don't belong in the same sentence...accord to the rest of the Christians.....

i think people lost the point of the thread, it wasn't about hip hop culture unless thats where you and your parents don't relate... So you are all just like your parents and they are totally up on the times? None of them have any funny stories of not knowing how the fuck to work a cell phone?
This older guy I work with, prolly in his 60's, has the funniest voicemail message ever. He's like
"... This is Doug, leave a message at tha... uh... beep. ......... [mumbling incoherently]..... where's the damn button..... [beep]"
lmao, every time i hear it i laugh my balls off.

My mom has me come over once every few weeks to delete the porn my brother d/ls.

My parents are pretty cool. My dad used to fucking hate rap, but when I was thirteen and started getting into it my dad actually came up to me and told me he liked the song I was listening to, starin thru my rearview. Since then we've had many talks, and I've gotten him to understand that just because he doesn't like rap, it doesn't mean its total crap, just not his kinda music.

When I was 15 some idiot left a quarter on my moms living room table one night. She woke me up the next day by walking into my room, when i saw what she was holding I thought I was dead but she just gave it back to me. When I was 17 my dad accidently found my bong when we were moving my bed (I forgot to move it). He told me it was pretty dope and we got baked together after.

My dad is a computer genius and knows more about technology than I do.

I think the only thing my parents wouldn't understand is if I was doing nothing with my life.

Good call. I think that's the one thing my folks would never be able to stomach.

You got baked with your old man, huh? Nice. Where you from?
