I first encountered this drug 6 years ago when my friend overdosed on it and died. Since then I've lost 2 other friends to it. About a month ago I walked in to my friends room to say hi and he was in the middle of overdosing and in the process of having a seizure, I saved his life, CPR and all of that. Last night I lost another friend to this shit. It's a drug that's pretty commonly used everywhere and its fucking upsetting. Purdue Pharma, the company that makes it, is dealing with one of the biggest backlashes ever seen but not one media outlet or politician seems to care. The only time I see shit on tv about it is on current tv on vanguard but not many people see that. I really don't know why im writing any of this shit is just frustrating. More people use this drug for fun than people who actually need it. Big Pharma doesn't give a fuck, its sad. It's sad that I lost a friend but its even more sad that I'm used to it. And this shit can be prevented. The company just won't take the neccessary steps because it'll cut into their profit too much. Then big pharma lobbies so hard nothing will be done to force them to change. I don't know, I feel weak and hopeless. I don't know why I'm using sh as an outlet but whatever, make some jokes or post a funny pic or something

I understand you lost many friends to it, but what do you want these companies to do to prevent this? It's a prescription drug, right? I see it like this:

if you start using it without a prescription, you're stupid. There's no way to justify breaking the law by either forging a script or stealing it from someone else and using it when you haven't been prescribed it.

There are people who use it responsibly and because they need it for pain relief. I don't know what you're suggesting pharms do, but if it makes it harder for people who need it to get it, then it's not fair to put stricter barriers for obtaining it.

It sucks when the people you care about do something, and not be rude/harsh, stupid, but people make their own choices. You can choose to not take the drug and use an alternative drug to avoid experiencing withdrawals and dependency. But it's like people expect drugs to be 100% good for you and have no dangers/side effects. That's not how they work.

I lost a couple of friends in HS bc of oxys. That was like 8 or 10 years ago. Now the only ppl around here that do them are hardcore junkies. They snort them. No one I know messes with them anymore. If i even hear somebody mention them I'm disgusted. I was the last person to see one of my friends alive. He was nodding out at my house and I was pissed bc he had just got out of the hospital from the seizures and I made him go home. He went home and fell asleep and never woke up. I still have a lot of guilt about that but I don't hate oxys more than any other drug.

I'm sorry about your friends though. It's a really horrible way to lose someone.

Seen a few people fuck with that shit, nasty stuff. It seems to be quite commonly used in OR too, as well as meth. Fucked up shit. Sorry to hear about your friends dude.

That said, sad to hear what you're telling. Even though I had some friends who started with drugs, luckily none of them ever took it that far. I got this one friend who might end up living his life as a drugaddict, but I doubt he'll ever OD.
