This kind of applies to the 2D vs 3D debate. That thread inspired me to head to Xbox Live Arcade and download some 2D games that I loved during my child hood when 2D was the only way to go.
Two games that particularly owned me back then was Street Fighter and Sonic. (Mario too, but I play Mario on DS a lot so not getting into that in this thread.)
So I downloaded Sonic 1 and 2, and Street Figher 2 Hyper Edition.
Sonic is still great fun, its just classic gameplay that is so awesome. Street Fighter on the other hand, oh my God, it sucks so much now and just feels so awkwardly slow to play.
I wish they'd put the Alpha series on live, or X-Men vs. Street Fighter.
I might get Ultimate Mortal Kombat tonight and see how that goes, but I kind of wish Id left Street Fighter 2 in the past where it belonged
