Maybe it changed, but after the thanks addon was implemented reps still yielded more rep points than thanks. You should all consider this.

maybe we should just increase the point count on thanks and remove the rep button, would make the system alot simpler. Impliment a similar rule to the must share some love (but reduce the shared love required).

i don't like the idea of removing them. laugh at that all you want. a lot of inside jokes were concieved in those rep comments. often did i chuckle or right out laugh at the comments people would leave me. now i some times go to my control panel to see if i got any new thanks, but there was a time where i went there to check what people actually wrote. some times it'd be interesting feedback on the post that got repped.

Yeah, with the thank yous I don't know whether someone is thanking me for replying to their post or because they thought my reply was great. I have no doubt all my replies are great, but I can't tell if the one who thanked me knew it or if they're just saying thanks. So I say either start using the rep more or get rid of the thank you button.
