Night Shift

I'm working from 11pm to 9.30am tonight. Which is funny because I cant even party all night, let alone serve people all night. The after xmas sales are starting so all the department stores are opening at 12 and staying open all night and going right into tomorrow and the next day and next day... who's gonna shop at like 4am? Crazy. Materialism gone mad I tell ya. So I thought I'd share it with you. I better go... have another energy drink.... and make some well earned money!

heh i would prolly go hava look around at 12 but i just got back from melbourne where the sales started today after shopping there it really makes adelaide look quite pathetic

so many bargains tho.. got some CK jeans for $50 and all up spent around $400

Damn that is mad.

I could never be bothered to shop that long. I hate the sales, all these people who queue all night long just so they can save 50 quid. It annoys me. People aren't that poor, just so tight. I'd rather not save any money and spend the time in bed.


It's good for people who work though. When I was a student I'd always work bank holidays, double time. It helped me through. If there was all night working I'd take that too. I can't believe many people will go shopping at that time though.

reminds me of my Wal Mart nigh shifts. we were doing some remodeling in the cosmetics department and the top self in the shampoo section broke, all these shampoo bottles started bouncing off my head. i was fine, the maneger let me take a smoke break wo hoooo! i thought i'd share it with you.

Ive been working graveyard shift for 2 years now. I work at a grocery store in SoCaL called "Stater Bros." I work the stock crew. 10:30pm to 7am 5 days a week. Right now iam just chillen i requested a whole bunch of paid time off days because the Xmas season at work got me stressed. Throwin double loads a night with the boss on your back for some bullshit everymorning can really stress a mother fucker! I prefer working graveyard though because i dont have to deal with customers

The only thing that sucks is my biological clock is all fucked up iam always tired. I mean i sleep a little when i get home but them my girlfriend keeps me up all day and when i take her home i wanna take a nap but then she keeps me up talking BS on the phone until its time to get ready for work again! Anyway thats my graveyard rant! Cheers!

that was usually my biggest problem too, by the time you actually get home youre still a lil wired and so much going on, and its hard to just pass out with the sun out, then bam its time for work again

Just an update people, the stores were busy as all hell. I went in to see Amara, just got back now, its 4AM, she was holding up well. I bought her some chocolate and redbull so all should be good!

Its funny, I was in Footlocker a week ago looking at some new Air Forces and Adidas Shell Toes, I went there last night for the sale and they were $10 bucks more than they were before the sale! LOL, sure they discounted them from the ORIGINAL price, but they'd been selling them cheaper a week earlier. Fuckers.

Thus I did not buy any, I need some friendly Americans to hook me up through paypal...

i did graveyard at walmart too and worked on remodeling.. 10-6... nothing bad ever happened tho

It was busy for first two hours (12-2)....then quiet...then totally dead. Then picked up again about 8am. But I cleaned the shelves nicely! I dont want to work that shift again. I came home and slept several hours... am tired now. The computer systems at work were wrong...the 'huge discounts' they advertised werent programmed in...lol, d'oh!! So I've decided the night shift is not for me... I'm just not a night person...or a day person for that matter.

You should have seen the way people lined up at the door and ran in the store though when it opened... I cant imagine myself ever doing that. I'd rather pay full price and purchase it in a civilised way!
