New design for HipHopDefined

I didn't design this, but as the owner of the site, I would like to get some feedback on it. We're using Word Press to manage the site.

It's kind of a Beta version though. You will probably find some bugs and errors. If you do, please report them to me and I'll add them to the to-do-list. I'll spend about a week trying to find all bugs/errors and then they will be fixed asap. So all help is appreciated.

Right now it's best viewed in Fire Fox, but when all the bugs have been fixed, it will work just as good in IE.

Like the colours but its a little too crowded for my taste.

It lacks that distinction between all the little different areas.

I dont know how to explain what i am tryin to say.

As a webdesigner myself I have some tips/suggestions/bugs that you might want to change.
take this as nothing but advice:

- the right side of the main navigation has a bug with the background image. you'll see what I mean
- the 'Newsletter' text is white on a yellow background. Not good for readability
- the 'your email address' text in the Newsletter subscription box is not properly aligned to the vertical center of the input field.
- personally I find it all very cluttered, but that's ok for the target audience I guess. Some more whitespace between sections/blocks could help though.
- it's not always clear where a use can click. The text links are ok as they're all mostly the same (yellow (underlined) text), but the image links could use some rollover/hover state to indicate it's clickable.
- color scheme is nice
- the 'New Media' part: the song title is clickable, as is the icon to the right of it, but why not the pic of the artist? I'd rather click the artist pic than the DJ icon. Or maybe make the DJ icon more clear what it will do once a user clicks it.
- same with the 'Exclusive Interviews' section. Artist pic is not clickable, although you do it right on the Featured Artist section.
- the forum has another design than the website?

that's all for now, I've only checked the front page. If I find more I'll let you know

I know there's still some bugs that needs to be fixed. Hopefully I'll get some time over this weekend to fix everything.

The forum will get a matching skin. It should be completed this weekend too.
