Need help to connect headphones to mixer

so, im having a problem trying to understand what it you are trying to do.

i'm going on the assumption that you do your mixes, beats, or whatever on your computer and you want to route/send the music from your computer to your mixer, is that it?

there should be a phone outlet on your mixer. just look for outlets. it's pretty basic. some places you plug in shit to send it through the mixer. just look at any out-, or inlet that doesn't go to any of the channels on the mixer. there should be a text right next to them stating what they are/do. if you could post up what the various outlets and inlets on your mixer say, we could be of more help.

it's possible your mixer doesn't have a headphone out.

lol, i checked around a little.

in the upper right corner of the front of your mixer interface, where all the buttons and sliders are, there is an outlet that says "phones". did you try plugging your headphones into that? if your headphone jack is too small for the outlet, you can buy a little thing you plug it into, a converter you might say, at any electronics store.

Hmm lol, no not really.

What I want to do is channel the music to my headphones only (I also have some speakers where I listen my music) when I want to record vocals and stuff.

1) how do you make your music? is on the computer with reason or fruity loops or do you use drum machines, etc?

2) if you make the music on your computer with a software are you trying to get the music from the computer to your mixer and then listen to it through the mixer?

or can you already get the music routed to your mixer but you want to bring out the mic from the mix without bringing down the volume?

Preach; I can plug into my mixer but that's not the problem. Problem is that I don't know how to make it so the sound(music) I want to listen too goes through my headphones and not my speakers.

What happens is; I connect my phones to the mixer, put my mixer on and when I press play on winamp I get music from the speakers into the mic and everything that goes into the mic I can hear in my headphones. Lol, hope you understand what I'm saying. So basically I can only get music cause of the mic catching in sound.

PuffnScruff;

1) Do you mean beats or everything? For making beats I use reason and fl, for recording I use cool edit pro 2 (going over to cubase soon)

2) I'm not sure I understand this but yea basically. I want to be able to hear music from my headphones. Not cause my mic is plugged in. I mean, if I disconnect the mic from the mixer then I won't get sound to my headphones at all.

ok i think i understand a little better

im not sure if you can actually get music playing on winamp routed into the mixer. maybe you can i have never needed to try and do this

use the stereo outs on your soundcard and input them into the mixer. it should route the sound to the mixer. ive never used cool edit so i dont know how the I/O setup on it is like or if you can route sound out of the soundcard with that DAW but i dont see why you couldnt. you';ll be able to do that with cubase for sure

it didnt look like your mixer had a spdif I/O so i would use the analog 1/4 inch outs on the soundcard
