I'm ashamed to ask, but I need some help with simple physics laws that I definetely shouldn't have forgotten since my younger years.

1. What law demonstrates a candle burning?
2. What law demonstrates a candle being blown out if a jar is placed on top of it. I know it's because it needs oxygen to burn, but what law is it?
3. What law demonstrates ice melting? I know it has to do with some law regarding the change of a solid to liquid, or gaseous state.

I would appreciate it. It's regarding my thread about the kinetic sculpture, if anybody remembers.

haha you're on your own then...the class was two years ago and i hated it on top of it...my teacher should have been exiled :D

FUCK YOU! You are wasting my time! lol

i don't think there are any laws that say exactly what you want to be said, because in order to be considered a law it has to be proven beyond all doubt.

i think they're just principles, but i could be wrong...science isn't my field :)

Principles are fine. It doesn't have to be a law. It can be a principle. Can you help now?

1) fire - because it burns shit
2) wind - because it blows fire out
3) evaporation - because it changes the solid water into air
a 'rep' would be fine :thumb:

Fire and wind are not physics laws. Evaporation is when the liquid turns to gas, and that's not a law or principle, as far as I know, either. Do you still deserve a rep?

well i put in my time and effort.
but, since i got them all way off.
for the 3rd one, how about condensation?

those are terms, not laws though

maybe he doesnt know what he's askin for :p

First off ,thanks to Luv4Pac4Ever for trying to help out.

I do know what I'm asking for, sir. I'm asking for physics principles or laws, such as Newton's Third Law of Motion, acceleration due to gravity, the law of conservation of energy, rotational motion, periodic motion, torque, center of gravity, etc.
