I reckon most popular tropical destinations are shitty places to live in. Apparently, Vancouver BC is not all it's cracked up to be either. I met a couple last Friday from Calgary who lived in Vancouver for a couple of years and they only had negative things to say about Vancouver. Apparently it's all just trust fund babies, students, or people in shitty jobs. Of course, a huge generalization and it can't be true because Vancouver probably has a respectable financial district, but then I started thinking about people who I know in Vancouver. All the girls work in retail and/or are students, the guys either sell drugs or do some sort of physical labor, or are bartenders. No one has like a boring, well-paid office job lol. Also, I don't know anyone who doesn't live with their parents but that's mostly a cultural thing.

You were a student when you went there mostly, no? So of course those are the only people you know. I imagine if you go there now, with your boring well-paid office job, you will meet similar people. It's like me coming to Australia. Amongst young people, Australia has a great reputation for being a place to backpack, party and be drunk idiots. But I've yet to see any of it because I'm not part of that crowd anymore. Everyone I know has a well paying job and heaps of responsibility.

PS. what is with you and "I reckon" lately? Meet some Aussies?

To be honest, Montreal and Quebec City have their shit straight for the most part, but sadly we don't make the majority of the province. It doesn't help that the rest of Canada doesn't see us as a Canadian province.
Just last week I was coming home and two girls from Toronto come up to me and asked for directions. They kept repeating: "Sorry, I don't speak French, and sorry I'm from Toronto" ... Hey lady, 90% of Montreal is bilingual and we have a rivalry with Toronto, but we won't go at you with a pitchfork cause you're from there. I told her we're all Canadians here to her reply: "Well..........................."

It's been reported that he's accepted coke as a form of payment for interviews. After seeing that interview, it doesn't surprise me. lol.

Also Sofi, I'm through most of the album, it isn't that bad as you make it out to be. It should have been shortened to 10 songs though. It doesn't come as hard as his previous albums, then again - it's been like 6 years... :confused:

Well, it works both ways. You can't be screaming separatists and then expect the rest of us to be all warm and accepting :). But I was referring to the bullshit over the tuition increases. After that horse shit, the province has come off looking like a bunch of spoiled brats with an sense of over entitlement. It'll be a long while before that image wears off.

Meh, the seperatists are the minority. Once the hardcores from the 60s-70s die, things will stabilize in that field.

As for the tuition, my issue was mainly how they took to the streets, started disrupting classes, and alienated those who chose to keep their nose clean and go to school and work. All of a sudden, a lot of these protesters started acting like they were on a moral pedestal and if you weren't with them, it's because you were rich and didn't care about the younger generation. That's how it looked in my [English] university. The media in the rest of Canada was a bit over dramatic when covering the protests though. They made it sound like urban warfare was going on here. It was only a few occasions of it when the 'Black Bloc', an anarchist group, started posing as protesters. I was on the fence for the most part though. I understood the point each side was trying to make, it's just a shame how it all went down.
