Technology Mic Problem [pleeeze help]

yo, just bought a hitachi Hmp 606, never used a mic b4, does this shit need installing? any drivers or shit? i plugged it in the back and nothings happening......do i need a program 2 capture the sound? any info much appreciated thanks

Let me ask, did it come with any software??? Did you plug it in to the right slot? Also to check if it is working go to start>all program>accesories>entertainment>and then voice recorder. press record and talk into the mic. It should work.
