Mark Forums Read

Could someone please enlighten me as to what this does exactly.

It marks the forums as read.
Everytime you enter it shows what threads have new posts, if you click this it marks all posts as read.

Thnx pittsey, but I still dont understand. it all just looks teh same to me. maybe it is me and im dumb lol
