Egos were checked at the door when super producers Kanye West and Pharrell Williams hit the studio to record the duet “Number 1,” which will appear on Williams’ upcoming album In My Mind. The two were in Miami last weekend to shoot a video for the single, which is said to revolve in part around Pharrell's Billionaire Boys Club clothing line, reports MTV.com. Williams ended up producing the single, while Kanye laced the track with rhymes. In My Mind is due for release on July 25.
In other Kanye news, the producer and his company, Konman Entertainment, Inc., are being sued for hanging on to a leased Mercedes long after its expiration date last January. According to TMZ.com, Konman leased a Mercedes G500 in Sept. 2002 for $1,295.00 a month. The lease was up in Jan. 2006, but the artist has yet to return the car, according to the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. DCFS Trust, which holds the note on the car, is suing for a total of $53,747.15, which represents the vehicle’s value. DCFS is also seeking back lease payments, late charges and punitive damages.
